How Do I Enter?

Entering is easy. Post your Chapter banner designs (whether drawn by hand or made on the computer) on our Facebook page or Twitter account, and you could win! We’ll select the top five banners to be added to the Horus Heresy: Drop Assault game. In addition to bragging rights, winners will also take home a Machine Spirit Sepulcher (that’s a whopping 6,750 Machine Spirit). Better still, players from all over the world will have the chance to use your design in the game. You can say, “Hey, see that banner? That’s mine. I made that. They put that in the game because of me!” to all your friends.

Contestants are encouraged (but by no means required) to include a caption with their Chapter’s name, as well as images containing miniatures or artwork bearing their icon. We love to hear the creative theme behind your entries!

Sample Submissions

So you want to enter but aren’t sure what your submission should look like? Maybe you’re searching for some inspiration. No problem. While the design is entirely up to you, we’ve collected some samples below to show you the level of detail we’re looking for. Notice how the shapes are relatively chunky and bold, with no text and show only one, flat colour.

Criteria & Suggestions

  • Simplicity is key. Take note of the level of detail provided in the sample icons above. In the game, these will be viewed at a small size and must still be easy to see.
  • Icons must be flat, one colour images only. Full tonal or multi-coloured images will need to be flattened to be put in the game.
  • You may create hand-drawn images (submitted via scan or photograph) or use computer graphics software (MS Paint, GIMP, Photoshop, etc) to create your submission. Please note that all images, particularly scans or photographs of hand-drawn entries, are subject to slight modifications from our art team to ensure they appear correctly in the game. Our art team will interpret the entry as they see fit. All submissions become property of Complex Games Inc., and modifications will be made without any interference from outside parties, including entrants.
  • Thematically fitting content will be heavily favoured. (E.g. Cute bunnies don’t belong on a Legion Space Marine)
  • Submissions of existing Warhammer 40,000 Chapters will not be considered.
  • Submissions which have been plagiarized will not be considered. Seriously, don’t do this. It’s not cool.
  • Submissions may not include text directly on the icon.

**Please note: icons may be modified slightly by our artists to match other icons in the game. ***All submissions will be subject to Games Workshop’s approval.
